Afterglow was inspired by the way the whole world seems to shimmer after a storm at the beach. The moment when the light is both cool and warm- when the veil between heaven and earth is thin, and I am reminded of my smallness in the vast universe. Throughout the process of painting, I incorporated several different techniques to develop organic texture in the sand, rocks, and sea. Thin layers of pigment allow the clouds to glow behind.
Afterglow was selected for the Watercolor Showcase juried exhibition at City Arts Orlando.
Each original watercolor painting is designed and crafted as a lasting heirloom. I use only the highest quality professional pigments and acid-free watercolor paper. Signed discretely on the front, dated on the back. Matted to a standard size for the collector’s ease in framing.
